Snapchat, a popular photo-messaging application, is now available for download on Windows PCs through the Microsoft Store. This allows for Snap to be used on a computer.
Snapchat will be available as a Web Application on Windows desktop computers.
Windows Central recently reported that the app will launch in Microsoft Edge on PCs running Windows 10 and Windows 11. It will be built on Snapchat’s recently announced web app, which uses Microsoft’s Chromium-based Edge browser.
The Snapchat app is only 1.4MB in size, and it is always up to date and has features comparable to the online version, according to sources.
Furthermore, it is said that the app would run in Microsoft Edge and that Windows would handle it similarly to any other program, complete with a dedicated icon in the Start menu and alerts when new notifications are available. It’s worth noting that the Snapchat PWA version is freely available for download from the Microsoft Store.
Beyond this, the firm has teamed up with Amazon to offer a virtual try-on service. Snapchat users will be able to try on several frames from well-known brands on the e-commerce site. According to Amazon, some of these brands are Persol, Maui Jim, Oakley, Ray-Ban, and Costa Del Mar.
If you are interested in using Snapchat on your Windows device, all you need to do is open the Microsoft Store on your Windows device, search for Snapchat, and then click the ‘Get’ option. You will then be ready to go. Bear in mind that in order to authenticate the login, you will need to use your phone.
