This Country Banned iPhones Ahead of Apple iPhone 14 Launch

Starting from iPhone 12 Apple has stopped providing chargers in their phone boxes. This marketing move of Apple did not receive very positive feedback from users around the world. Various European countries have ordered Apple to provide chargers with the box.

Now after the European countries, the Brazilian government has demanded that Apple halt sales of iPhones without accompanying chargers. Nonetheless, the Cupertino-based behemoth has not yet commented on the same; it may be remembered that the corporation had previously denied that any such concerns existed in its Brazilian operations.

As per the recent reports, the Brazilian Ministry of Justice penalized Apple $2.38 million and demanded that the company compensate any consumers who were defrauded during the sale of iPhone 12 and later models. Moreover, it stopped selling iPhones that don’t have a charger along with them.

Minister Jose Dias Toffoli tweeted, “We think that consumer rights should be safeguarded,” and the government chose to charge Apple $2 million. “It boils down to saying no to a half-done service or good.” He also disputed Apple’s claim that the method offers any sort of environmental protection and advocated instead for a more eco-friendly choice for customers.

Using investigations done over a number of years in Brazil, Mr. Toffoli stated, “We have found actual data that demonstrates most batteries are created from mixed materials with potentially dangerous compounds such as lead or cadmium in them.”

Apple is expected to announce the new iPhone 14 series at its upcoming event, which is scheduled to be held on September 7. The tech giant will likely come up with at least four new iPhones in order to woo customers and mark an important milestone in the smartphone space.
