After the success of Xiaomi Mi Band 4, Xiaomi is now launching its upgraded version Mi Band 5 on 11th June this month. The launch will be held in China. Xiaomi Smart Life handle has officially announced the launch date on its Weibo account.
Talking about Mi Band 5, various reports about its specifications have surfaced online. Last year Mi Band 4 had a 0.95-inch display. Upcoming Mi Band 5 will have a bigger 1.2 inches display. Xiaomi might use an AMOLED panel just like they did with Mi Band 4. Display on Mi Band 5 will have a flatter surface.
In terms of Design, Mi Band 5 does not have a huge change this time. Both Mi Band 4 and Mi Band 5 looks similar. As per the official post, Mi Band 5 will be available in four colors that are Green, Red, Black, and Yellow. Xiaomi might offer additional band straps with different colors and surface designs.
Mi Band 5 will support NFC for the global version. NFC support will be useful for Mi Pay, but as of now, we don’t know if it will support other payment apps or not.
Mi Band 5 will feature around 5 new sports activity modes, which will track activities like Yoga, Elliptical Machine, Skipping Rope, Rowing Machine, and Indoor Bicycle. Xiaomi might offer AI Assist feature with Mi Band 5, Alexa integration is expected from Xiaomi.
SpO2 will be a highlight feature of Mi Band 5, it will count blood oxygen saturation and will provide better heartbeat monitoring. The menstrual cycle tracking feature will be the new feature coming to Mi Band 5.
As of now, we don’t know the price details of the band. Mi Band 5 might cost you around CNY 200 in China, which is around Rs. 2100 in India. But the price will vary at the time of the launch.
